Summer is Here!

We have been pretty lucky here in the Midwest this year. The weather warmed up much sooner than it normally does and the weekends have cooperated for the most part with very few rainouts. Absolutely great weather for dirt oval so far. Last week I went up to Dukes Proscale Raceplex. Weather was amazing, track was in pretty good shape and there was some quality racing in a couple classes. Attendance was decent for early season, about 20 entries with late models, nitro 4wd and Dominators running as the main classes. After watching an epic Dominator run, I can see why this class is catching on. I did ok at Dukes. I was hoping to run my new sprint but the class did not run that night. My late model was halfway hooked up, finish second only a few seconds down. I'm lookin forward to getting back there in a few weeks to see if I can improve on my setup and give Randy a little more of a run for his money. This past Friday, I went down to Stateline. I forgot how much fun that place was. The new layout includes more clay on the track and wider lanes. I thought that made for a really good race track. Stateline had 92 entries between oval and short course which made for an awesome time.
